Cortina Systems REACH Compliancy Statement

REACH is a European Community Regulation on chemicals and their safe use (EC 1907/2006). It defines and regulates the Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemical substances within the European Union 27 member states and the EFTA European Economic Area (EEA) countries of Iceland, Norway and Liechtenstein. REACH regulates the management and distribution of chemicals, their properties and any risks associated with usage. REACH requires that chemical information be readily available to downstream users such as Cortina Systems customers in the supply chain. Chemicals will need to be registered and evaluated for safety over the next 10 years. Safe alternatives will need to be offered for the substances most harmful to human health and the environment. SVHC is an acronym for "substances of very high concern": The use or marketing of these substances are potentially restricted by REACH.

Cortina Systems is committed to a clean environment as well as the health and safety of our communities. Our products do not contain any of the SVHC above the REACH specified thresholds.

Cortina Systems works with upstream suppliers as well as customers to ensure communication of pertinent information and REACH compliance.

• What actions has Cortina Systems taken to ensure compliance with REACH and does Cortina Systems currently comply with REACH?

  Cortina Systems requires their suppliers and subcontract manufacturers to fulfill their REACH obligations and to supply statements of compliancy. We are currently REACH compliant.

• Have you requested your suppliers to confirm their compliance with REACH?

  Yes, we have asked our suppliers to provide statements of compliance and to update these quarterly, or as required for the introduction of a new substance.

• Has your company registered any chemicals or substances under REACH that are present in any products that your company supplies to customers? If so, please identify them and provide the registration number.

  No, Cortina Systems does not manufacture any substances in excess of 1 tonne nor do any of our products contain SVHC above the REACH specified threshold of 0.1% by weight concentration limit.

• Are any SVHC as specified by REACH present in any of the products that your company supplies to customers? If so, please identify the product and its weight, and the substance and its relative concentration by weight.

  Cortina Systems products do not contain any SVHC above the REACH specified threshold.

• Do you anticipate disruptions in the supply of products to Cortina Systems as a result of REACH?

  No. Cortina Systems products are fully REACH compliant.
